Ask the Chief of the Anna Police:by Kenny Jenks A weekly column allowing readers access to useful information about law enforcement issues in the Anna area. Each week I receive requests for information from people in the Anna area. Having received repeat questions on the same subjects, I thought I would write a weekly column that might help answer some of these questions in the public forum. This column is the personal opinion of Kenny Jenks and is not the official opinion of the City of Anna or the Anna Police Department. Q: Chief Kenny, I wanted to drop you a note to let you know that the new automatic weather phone call came in last night with plenty of time before the storm passed; My compliments to the city and you for implementing this system for us. Q: Chief, While traveling through the Anna area last week, we had a blowout. It was not too long before sunset. Officer Lemonds stopped to check on us. While we did have a spare, we found it did not have enough air. Officer Lemonds gave us a ride to the nearest place to put air in the tire, stayed with us until we got our vehicle ready to go, then gave us directions to where we could get another tire. We made it to the Wal-Mart in McKinney to get a replacement tire just before they closed. I'm not sure what we would have done if Officer Lemonds had not stopped. His knowledge of the surrounding area and the help he gave us made it possible for us to get the air we needed for our spare, then get our replacement tire, and make it home to Burleson safely that night. His friendliness and helpfulness made a potentially dangerous situation a lot less stressful for us and has left us with a very positive impression of Anna.
We don't travel too far from home very often, but we will be better prepared when we do, from now on.
Glenda and Steve, Readers: Don’t forget to check your spare tire occasionally. Sometimes, they can be low on or out of air.
